Sidney authorities investigate threatening message found in school bathroom

SIDNEY, Neb. -  The superintendent of the Sidney Public Schools Jay Ehler released a statement Tuesday that a message was written on a wall of the middle school bathroom referencing a school shooting.

Sidney Police Chief Joe Aikens said that there will be an increased police presence at all of the schools as the investigation continues. Aikens says authorities will be reviewing surveillance footage in an attempt to determine who is responsible for the message of threatening nature.

Both Ehler and Aikens said this message will be taken very seriously. School will remain in session and all buildings will remain locked per normal procedure.
